Let Us Eat Cake
Throughout the storied history of our wedding plans, our cake plans have stayed relatively consistent. We plan on having a nicely decorated (and therefore more expensive) cake for the couple and family, and sheet cake for the rest of the party. Yet, we simply needed a shop to provide our cake! Early on, we set up several cake tasting appointments to find our dream cake. The first place was Red Ribbon in Redmond. Ended up being piles of cake on a small plate that left a bad taste in our mouths. Next place was Creme-de-la-creme in Renton. Better cakes, smaller crowd, but still nothing amazing. Frustrated, we thought about cakes we've had before. Then bingo! The luscious Chocolate Ginger cake from Metro Markets. Great chocolate taste with a wonderful ginger finish. After finding that these cakes were made at a shop called Montlake Mousse, we decided to give a call. We found them to be very nice and willing to sell us some cakes. We also found that these cakes were actually Chocolate Ginger Carrot cakes. We didn't quite know if we were all talking about the same cakes, but after discussions, the owner explained that they were in fact the same cakes. We simply had never tasted the carrots inside. The owner then offered to dissect the cake with us to show the carrots inside. We have yet to set up an appointment, but we're very excited that this place will be providing our cakes! We also have an idea for decorations, but we will not divulge.
